Does anyone know if hi-speed USB2 can work using Win98SE with the
ASUS P4P800 ?
I enabled the high speed setting for USB in the BIOS, but it doesn't
seem to work - any h/speed device I connect and try to use causes
windows to stop responding or to not function correctly.
In Device Manager under USB, I see:
Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2
Intel 82801EB USB Enhanced Host Controller - 24DD
USB Root Hub

I did test the same USB device on my laptop and had no problems.

If anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Maximus Decim driver ?

Certain USB2 PCI add-in cards, come with a driver CD with
OrangeMicro (OUSB) drivers. If you can find a USB2 PCI card
that comes with its own driver CD, it might have those
kind of drivers on it. I don't know if Orangemicro ever
did a version for chipsets. Orangemicro appears to be
out of business now, which is why I provide an archived
link.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your help.
Using 'Orangeware' driver, I have now got the hi-speed USB working in
win98se. Thanks for your suggestion!
