Hi All: I have a very annoying problem trying to get my USB ports to
work. If I enable USB in the BIOS setup the computer locks up after
WIndows (XP) starts. I have tried clearing the CMOS, upgrading the
BIOS, and even tried installing a PCI USB controller card (it too
locks up). I have a K7S5A motherboard rev 1.0. I recently installed
this Mobo after my other K7S5A Pro quit woerking. Everything else
works fine when USB is disabled. Any help is appreciated.

Also, when I upgraded the BIOS I used the most recent upgrade (by
date) even though it was about 200k smaller in size. Should I have
upgraded with another file first?
Thanks
PMD

Provided the BIOS flash was done correctly, there should be no problem with
the new BIOS.

Did you reinstall XP after the motherboard change? Or a repair installation,
perhaps?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
