Post subject: Ethernet Disk Mini Network / USB Drive unable to LogIn

If I connect the Ethernet Disk Mini directly to my computer's USB port I can see the following :

Resources folder
System Volume Information folder
autorun.inf
EDmini_LogOn.exe

If I double-click the LogOn.exe application I get :

EDmini_LogOn.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If I connect to my Ethernet hub I can locate the Ethernet Mini through the Find - Computers and entering EDMINI - a folder called Share appears when I double-click on the EDMINI icon in Workgroup but I cannot access it. A window pops up asking for a Username and Password.

According to the PDF Manual supplied with the drive it should be Username : admin and Password : admin but they aren't letting me into the drive.

There is NO RESET procedure in the manual. Does anyone out there know how to go about resetting it to the default access codes please.

Hi -

I also experienced this problem on a Win2K box, using a LaCie d2, but
it seems to clear up after I stop any other connected USB storage-type
devices - in my case, a SanDisk 4-in-1 media card reader. Hope this
works for you / good luck,

- Albert
