Post subject: PCI Express NIC in SB81P
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>shuttle (more info?)

Hello,

I tried installing an Intel® PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter
(EXPI9402PT) into my Shuttle SB81P today.

I just flashed the latest Award BIOS.

I'm not having luck getting FreeBSD to even notice that it exists. The
OS doesn't see it in 'pciconf -lv' output, for example.

I'm worried by the behavior of this NIC too. Sometimes when I reboot
the NIC's green lights stay lit, as I would expect. Other times they
stay dark. I hope it's not just flaky hardware, but I don't have
another box with PCI Express slots to test.

Has anyone had any luck installing PCI Express NICs in Shuttles?

Thank you,

Richard
