Greetings,

I've inherited a GA-5AX Rev 5.x based computer that was working
relatively well until one day it started blue screenining a few times,
and upon the next reboot...suddenly there's no video at all, and I get
some weird POST beeps I've never encountered before:

1 long beep
a pause.
What sounds like 2 really short beeps
a pause
A high tone (lower in frequency than the beep though)
A low tone

The mobo manual doesn't describe POST codes, and I haven't found any
joy on the Gigabyte web site either, or in my searches of this
newsgroup.

Can anyone tell me what this code might mean?

TIA for any help! I can start stripping components but there really
isn't much in here, and it'd help to know what hte computer is trying
to tell me!

Best Regards,

Update for posterity: By process of elimination, I determined that
this error was caused by a BAD strip of RAM. Once I removed the
offending SIMM, the machine powered on with the happy single beep of
POST success.
