I have a Problem with my Comp. I have 2 Samsung 19'' TFT with a Resolution
of 1280 x 1024 on each. My Problem is, that the overall performance is
really bad. So i think i have to purchase new hardware.
Here is my config:
Athlon XP 1600+
1GB DDR-Ram
GeForce FX5200 with 64MB
and a Gigabyte with KT266 Chipset.
What would you replace? Please don't say the hole computer.
PS: It's not a game-computer.

Thanks in advice.
Alex

i'd say cpu and gpu. gpu mostly, i mean the 5200 is not the best gaming
gpu out there, i would wait for 6800. and cpu get atleast a 2800+.
plenty of ram. though the chipset of your mobo is not the greatest,
either. ok the whole needs replaced, jk.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

The graphics card is absolute garbage. Beyond that, your processor is slow
also. Those two things would make a world of difference. I'm not sure how
high your motherboard's FSB will go, but Newegg.com has 333 FSB 2500
processors for 80 bucks retail with free shipping. As far as video cards
go, don't buy anything lower than an FX 5700 Ultra. Newegg.com has those
for about 180 bucks with free shipping. If you were to spend this 250
bucks, you'd have a nice computer.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Depends under what circumstance 'performance is bad'
Has it allways been bad
Or is this new - if so its likely to be correctable -

I previously had one 19'' and one 15'' TFT and had no Problems. But now
window dragging hangs for a second and Photoshop is also a bit slow if i
maximise it over the two Displays.
