Hello,
I'm currently a bit frustrated about my setup, because my new
GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB is just too big for my CPU, a Pentium D
2.8GHz.
I've overclocked the Pentium D to about 4GHz, but it's still
slow in comparison to a Core 2 Duo or even a Core 2 Quad.
Well, I got a few questions about the CPU-upgrade, though:
I have a watercooled system that has no problem on keeping
the overclocked Pentium D and the highly overclocked GeForce
quite cool: The CPU does not hit the 60°C and the GPU is around
52°C at maximum load (the Pentium D is a hot beast).
So it'd be quite natural that I try overclocking the Q6600, too.
What's a good board (that's not extremely expensive) and can
I keep my DDR2-800 RAM? Is DDR2-800 a good idea for a Q6600, anyways?
By the way, I'm one of the P5WD2-E Premium owners that are
currently *very* frustrated that the board does not support
Core 2 Duo.
Thanks,
Daniel
