You likely will not see a difference in temps at load going from 2.4
to 2.6.
When I first put my system together the temp running prime95 was 54c
at 2.4 to 2.7 Ghz. Tweaking the case for improved airflow and lapping
dropped the those temps 3 degrees.
Mid tower case with 2 120mm fans. I added a old 60mm fan to circulate
air inside the case. It is blowing on the RAM. Cleaned up the wiring
too. The system temp dropped from 44c to 36c when under load for a
long time. 31c to 32c at idle. Room temp is 25c.
I also measure the temp of the air blowing out the back with a digital
indoor-outdoor thermometer. Desktop temp is 76f and case air temp is
85f or about 30c.
I got a Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu CPU cooler next. Good cooling and not
much noise. Load CPU temps are now 44c at 2.95Ghz.
Next thing on my list is a Antec True power 430W PSU to replace the no
name 300W that came with the case.
Guess it all depends on if YOU are comfortable with the temps.

Review of the copper version of the cooler I have. Mine is a copper
aluminum mix that weighs much less.

One thing I like here is that they list the performance against other
coolers including the stock Intel.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
