What is Post Code 2.0. on AI7?

Yes, very frustrating. I've got to assume it's something about XP, as it
never happens with Win98.

Mine is as well. After running for a bit, doing on-line stuff, do you find
that the post code sometimes goes from 20 to 48?

Since the 'supposedly' =last/final= BIOS_driven post_code is 'FF' ,
'one' mite suppose that =any= 'following' post_codes of '20' & '48'
are ?possibly? an un_intended "artifact" from an (errant) piece
of OS code ...

Quite possible, highly probable ... given the complexity of the OSs
involved.

the generation of hex codes followed an ever increasing code "value" ...
never reverted to a lessor hex "value" ...

It turns out you are on the money, Qed. I called Abit today and spoke to one
of the techs. He said that once you successfully reach FF, it won't matter
what shows up after that. While he did not say that the 20 and 48 codes I
see may be related to XP "shmutz", he did say that it does not reflect on
any sort of motherboard hardware POST reporting capability.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

BUT ...
if I were doing payroll, market investement , et al , DoD "stuff" ...
I'd sure find an =alternate= way to double check my ?results? for
a time to come ...

than I sound <g>. I remember the days of DEC VAX-11/780 and the earlier IBM
