I have just installed a KT600 into my machine, installed new power
supply and memory and win xp pro. everything is working fine except...
when i shut down and then use the power button to restart it comes to
life beeps and then shuts down again. If I shut the power supply off
and then on again and hit the power button it boots up just fine. any
suggestions?

Will it come up if you hold down the insert key?
It's a possibility that the fan is coming up to speed too slowly and the FOC
(Fan Off Control)
is shutting system down. If so, go into bios and disable FOC...

That did it. Erik you da' man. Is this a common problem with this MB?
Is there anything that I need to look for in the future or is there
any harm with leaving this setting this way?
Thanks again.

It's common with SOYO boards that have the Fan Off Control as a
feature, when the cpu cooler is one of the kind that vary speed based
on cpu temp. Such as many of the Thermaltake Volcano coolers.
I have a Volcano 7, and in summer it spins just fast enough to get
past the FOC, but in winter it doesn't.

I'm about to upgrade my cpu, and I'll get the Vantec CM-7040 Aeroflow
cooler when I do. No FOC issues with it, and it's both quieter and
more efficient than my V-7.

Erik or Danny, Your recommendation of disabling the foc in bios
worked. I have a new problem. When I try and boot up everything
looks good then it defaults to a count down message recommending to
let windows open. When I do this the Widows XP opens then goes right
back to the original count down message. I also held the insert key
and it just went to a black screen. My monitor light was blinking. Not
sure if this is pertainant, but I download Kodak software for my
digital camera yesterday. Not sure if this has anything to do with
this issue. On the countdown message it states configurations were
changed or something like that. Sorry about the vagueness of this
message but I am in unfamiliar territory.

Need Help. Please advise..
