Hi,
today I replaced my old Core2Duo E6600 with a new quad core Q6600 CPU
(B3 stepping).
After switching CPUs, I find, that my P5B board (with BIOS 1604) does
not accept my manuel vcore settings anymore. Whatever I set it to, it
will stay at 1.2 v.
Therefore I cannot overclock my CPU, as I wish to do.
No I wonder if this is a known problem, maybe a BIOS bug or what else
can I do?
Any ideas?

Have you looked in the BIOS, for functions like "SpeedStep" ? SpeedStep
is like Cool N' Quiet, and allows changing the multiplier (FID) and the
Vcore (VID). It could be, that if SpeedStep is enabled, that the VID
is fixed. Disabling functions like SpeedStep, C1E, and the like, may
make manual control a bit easier. Experiment with a few of those
kind of settings and see what happens.

Speedstep and C1E is disabled of course. No change.
