Problem with UDF packet writing software

Hello.

Sorry, if I'm OT. If so, please tell me the right newsgroup.

I'm using several pc with a packet writing software.

I use the software given with the cd-rom, so I'm regular with the
license.

The problem is this: if I use DirectCD from Roxio, I can't write on cd
created with InCD from Ahead and vice-versa. The cd-roms are readable,
but not compatible for writing.

Is there a freeware (better if open source and/or multiplatform)
packet writing software, so I can install it in every PC I have?

Also is there a good freeware (better if opensource and/or
multiplatform) cd burning program?.
