Post subject: Problem mit CD- Laufwerk

Hallo,
auf meinem alten Notebook (166 MHz Pentium) habe ich unter Win98 neulich
eine Datei gelöscht. die Windows zum Ausführen braucht (vmm32.vxd). Der
Computer startet im Dos Modus.Ich würde gerne Windows neu installieren, da
ich aber kein Diskettenlaufwerk mehr habe für das notebook, muss ich die CD-
Treiber irgendwie zum Laufen bekommen. Könnte mir jemand sagen, wie ich die
Win98 CD Treiber zum Laufen kriege? Vorhanden sind sie auf alle Fälle, ich
denke, vielleicht sind sogar die DOS- Treiber noch installiert.
Ich würde mich über eure Hilfe freuen,

PS: Wie kann ich unter DOS auf den Papierkorb zugreifen?

Tilman:

You shouldn't need an DOS CD-ROM drivers at all.

Have you tried using a standard Win98 Emergency Boot Disk? Go to any

working Win98 system and create the Win98 Emergency Boot Disk. This is

just a bootable floppy disk with some useful stuff including CD-ROM drivers.

It should contain CD Drivers that should allow you to install Windows from

your CD-ROM. I have used this procedure many times myself, and it has

always worked.

Es musst eine Zeile in CONFIG.SYS liegen: "DEVICE=<Treiber> /D:mscd001"
D: is der Buchstabe des CD-Laufwerks.
Die *Microsoft CD extention* musst auch geladen sein, durch eine Zeile
in AUTOEXEC.DAT: "C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:mscd001". Näturlich, MSCDEX.EXE
musst vorhanden sein.

Das ist ein verstecke Verzeichnis, der RECYCLED heisst, im C:
Verzeichnis. Du kannst ihn sehen durch "dir /ah" Dann "cd RECYCLER",
und erneut "dir". Die namen sind geändert.
