according to MuFu, a respected guy on Rage3D.com and Beyond3D.com
forums, the ATI R420 will probably be an 8 pipeline VPU, not 12
pipelines as widely expected.
from what I've read, the R420 was targeted at providing 2x the speed
of the R300
(Radeon 9700 Pro) that was released in 2002.
