Post subject: Recommendations on Gigabyte's GA-G33M-DS2R
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>gigabyte (more info?)

I plan to upgrade my system with either Gigabyte's GA-G33M-DS2R or
Asus P5K-VM to be coupled with an E6550 and DDR2 1066 Ram
(Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz E.P.P. Memory -
OR - Crucial Ballistix Dual Channel 2048MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz
Memory), the OS will be either XP SP2 or Server2003.

I am not to interested on OC this mobo/cpu combo (at least for
now..Smile )

1) I wondered if anyone encountered any issues running when running
the GA-G33M-DS2R with a E6550 at 1300 FSB while using DDR2 1066MHz?

2) Between Gigabyte's GA-G33M-DS2R or Asus P5K-VM - Which mobo would
you recommend?

GA-G33M-DS2R doesn't detect SATA drive - New build and can't detect Samsung sata drive in bios. Drive has power and tried different sata ports. Does Gigabyte require the raid driver to just detect a sata drive ? Can't seem to find out that info. Thanks KenW

Gigabyte GA-5AA - I recently purchased an old Gigabyte GA-5AA motherboard to use with an amd k62 300 cpu. The board came with a pentiumn 166 and booted fine. To my surprise however when i put the amd chip in and set up the correct jumpers and switches it wouldnt boot. I..

Gigabyte GTS.... - after a month or so they replied and gave me a new bios for my mobo! The bios fixed nothing, the GTS site only allows one reply and no edit. that's impressive...
