Hello,

I have an IBM Thinkpad T42 with a 14.1 inch LCD display. A couple
months ago the screen got cracked so we ordered a new one but we
couldn't find anyone to fix. Using the manual at the IBM/Levano
website I was able to replace the screen. When I had turned it the
computer ran fine (thank God), but the Screen will not come on. The
Backlight it on but no color. Where could I have gone wrong?

Thanks for your help.

You'll need to carefully check the ribbon cable as the silver foil
contacts are very thin and easily bent away from the flat ribbon if not
inserted correctly.

Since it seemed to be working fine prior to replacing suggest it is
something that you have done or caught, a graphic card springs to mind
here.... also you'll need to check the screen is the correct part number
as there could well be differences here.
