Running Dual Boot with 98SE and XP Pro SP1 - I have a dual boot system on an Abit BD7II-R with 98SE on an old Seagate ATA33 HDD on Primary IDE 1 Master and a Lite-On CD-RW Primary Slave. Secondary IDE 2 Master is a LG GSA-4040B DVD-RAM with NO slave. My WinXP Pro is on Primary IDE 3 & 4 as a RAI

NF7-S SATA RAID-0, WD-SE: Anyone wanna compare disk benchm.. - Greetings Abit and Storage I have just had a bit of spare time to finally do some proper tests on my SATA RAID-0 set-up. I was hoping that some of you out there would be able to run some tests yourself so we can compare results. Doesn't..

Upgraded to AMD XP processor, now windows slower! - Hi, I have an Abit Kt7a mobo and just upgraded my 1.33 GHz processor to a 1800XP (happily running at 2GHz). The strang thing is that in Windows (2000 Pro) when I ran the UT2k3 benchmark the FPS dropped by 5, instead of going up because I now have a faster

Abit AI7 - Yet another NB failure, but a different question - Yes, the stock NB fan on my AI7 is showing signs that it will soon fail. I'm in the U.S., so I don't want to go the route of either RMA'ing my board or buying the same fan from Abit. I know most would recommend replacing the fan with the Zalman..

KV8-MAX3 SATA problems - I recently set up a new system with a KV8-MAX3 mobo, 2x 36.7GB mirrored raptors (C:) on the VIA SATA and 2x 120GB mirrored Samsung (D:) on the SiL SATA The mobo is running BIO 2.0. I then drove the system..

Hey folks,

I have an IT7 without PS/2 ports, but the registry setting I stumbled
upon will work for anyone who may have issues with USB devices not waking
their systems from suspend to RAM (STR or S3 sleep) in Windows XP. I have no
idea if it will wake a system from hibernate, but I doubt it. Those of you
with an ATI AIW card and its remote will also be happy to hear that this
will wake your systems from suspend using the remote...in fact, any USB
device can wake a system provided 5v is maintained during suspend on the USB
line.

Anyway, here's the registry addition I made:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usb]
"USBBIOSHACKS"=dword:00000000
"USBBIOSx"=dword:00000000

Have fun,

Dave

Correction: I don't think this will work with ANY USB device...just HID
(Human Interface) USB devices...otherwise a QuickCam could wake the
system...would be nice to walk into the room and have the computer start-up,
but that's only a dream Wink~
