Post subject: RocketRaid 133 (HPT372) hangs 'Updating ESCD' on P6VAP-A+
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>elitegroup (more info?)

I bought a HighPoint Rocket Raid 133 and put the card into a free slot
of my main board. The BIOS of the main board recognized the raid-card
but after continuing the boot process the boot process hangs on
"Updating ESCD.." Nothings works, just the power off button. I don't
know what the problem might be.
The main board is one of Elite Group, model P6VAP-A+ rev 1.4, with a
bios of Award Software International, Inc., 6.00 PG, release date
09/29/2000 (694X-596B-977-6A6lJE19C-00).

I check the websites of Elite Group but cant find anything about this
revision. Just BIOS for P6VAP-A+(PCB:1.0) Bios versions 1.3b and 1.5b.
Can I use them for my mainboard
Other installed pci cards are:
MYSON Technology Inc SURECOM EP-320X-S 100/10M Ethernet PCI Adapter
S3 Inc. ViRGE/DX or /GX (rev 01)

I use this PC just as a file server.

Can you help me out of this problem?
