With Windows-to-Linux application programming interfaces emulators becoming
almost mature now, the next major hurdle is to get emulation for device
drivers from Windows-to-Linux. The first steps are now in place from a
Montreal company called Linuxant, which allows you to run Windows network
card drivers under Linux:

Also they talk about how another programmer has gotten Windows 2000 printer
drivers to work under OS/2.

This is exactly what we need. I run Linux as my primary desktop and would
love the independence to choose whatever video card and other products I
want over my chosen OS.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Actually I choose hardware based on their support of linux. Don't want to
release enough info so drivers can be written? I won't buy your products.

Stacey, who just choose a Epson printer over some others because of this
today.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
