well, even if it was a bad battery, it would have been bad in the new 2466
AND the old 2460 that's worked so well in the past. Now i'm completely stumped
new power supply AND new mother board with floppy and single stick of reg
memory installed, and I'm getting similar problems. I can actually wait for
it to post, and set the CMOS with the new 2466, but when i save settings and
reset, it fails to post (harddrive/power lights frozen and blank screen.) At
this point i have to jumper reset the CMOS and try again but i'm in the same
state as before, only posts once and is not able to post again or get to
floppy.
I'm sort of out of options, I've tried only using one CPU and that didn't make
a difference, i've tried different batteries and reseting CMOS, tried 3
different memory sticks, all with similar results and not able to boot to
floppy to load new bios. At this point i either have to assume i'm really
stupid or I have two bad mother boards. (I tried the trick of trying to
power up with no memeory and the motherboard beeps correctly and doesn't beep
if a stick is in the first slot and reads the memory fine.)
out of options... anyone know something i can try?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
