I have a 120GB seagate IDE drive and a 250GB WD SATA drive. I want to
boot from the SATA drive and use the IDE drive as extra storage.
Problem is, no matter how I configure the IDE drive (slave/master) the
system wants to boot from it and not the SATA drive.

I have windows loaded on the SATA drive (using it right now, without
the IDE drive hooked up) and the IDE drive is just NTFS formatted
empty space.

My BIOS has an option to select which drive is priority, but it won't
let me switch them. With the IDE drive hooked up the BIOS shows the
SATA drive as IDE 4 and the IDE drive as IDE 0. Of course, when it
tries to boot it says "NTLDR not found hit ctrl-alt-del to reboot".

How can I get it to boot from the SATA drive?

Thanks

What choices in Boot Order? Update the BIOS as it sounds like a bug!

Mike.

Ok, got it working. Don't know what I did, but I hooked it back up
and booted up and it's fine. Weird. Didn't have to change the BIOS
or anything. Just hooked up the IDE drive again (for the 4th time)
and voila...all is working.

If you're referring to Hard Disk Drive Priority or Hard Disk Drives,
use the + or - key to move the drives.
