I have a Neo2 865PE (6728) and am trying to hook up a 160GB WD Sata
drive. Have been playing for days trying to get it to work. I can't
seem to get the IAA to install. When I go to the intel site and
install the application accelerator it says my chipset is not
supported, BUT when I run the chipset ultility it shows it IS
supported. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, have been there. I don't have the option for raid in my BIOS...
thats why i'm thinking I need to install the Intel Application
Accelerator so I can get into SATA bios. Also when I run XP install
and hit F6, put in intel raid drivers it says no disks found.
Hrmmmmm.... anyone anyone Wink

Yes, been there. For some reason I don't have the option to enable
raid in BIOS, do you need more then 2 HD's installed? When I install
windows and press F6 to use the Intel Raid drivers it says no
Harddrive found.

You do realize that every board in the 6728 series supports SATA, but only a
few of them actually have the RAID controller. Which 6728-? do you have?
If you are trying to install the RAID edition on a non RAID board, then it
is definitely not going to work. Also, are you using a Celeron or P4 on
this board?
