suddenly just went, if i turn my amp up to 11 I can just about hear it.
Tried different speakers/cables/amp/reinstall drivers etc. I connected
optical spdif to my 5.1 amp and that still works. Anyone got any ideas
before I buy an audigy to replace it Sad

Found out it was the cable that links the front panel had worked loose
slightly, apparently this affects the rear channels too. I'll have to be a
lot more careful when working inside as its a fiddly little bugget to get
back on
