I just bought one..... I used the memory the Shuttle site suggested, A-Data,
but had stability problems. I switched to Samsung and the problems went
away. Read the FAQ on the Shuttle web site before you start installation.
The power supply is absolutely silent.... but I replaced the fan for the
I.C.E. unit because it was a bit noisy(but not much).... only $7 I don't
know if I got a marginal fan or what... The cooling is well done. My CPU
2.8 P4 runs at 35c without a load and up to 41 running benchmarks. I use
the IGP, therefore the I.C.E. fan has never gone above the ultra quiet
state. You need to have a floppy drive available to install the Raid
drivers... this is a Microsoft problem not Shuttles...
Overall, I am pleased with the unit. The HDD performance is not great so If
you need great HDD performance, go with the Intel chipsets. If you want
quiet and acceptable HDD performance stay with the ST61G4...
Cheers.............
