Here is the post of one guy (i think it's Steve), which did some
experimants:
After reading previous posts here, thought I'd give the C130/ELC28
modification a try.
Got a $43 Thoroughbred 1700+ from NewEgg and a $0.75 1000uFd capacitor
from the local electronics shop.
After removing C130, and adding ELC28, the new Thoroughbred booted
just fine, and since the 1700 is unlocked, access to multipliers 6x
thru 12x allowed overclocking to 1600 MHz. Bumping the FSB to 145MHz
allowed 1740MHz.
Next I removed the Heatsink and Cut the 4th and 5th bridge on L3, and
the system booted to 2000MHz, with 1.6 vcore, and access to
multipliers 13x and up!
The best this K7V+ has done with the 1700+ is 2150MHz with a 1.75
vcore. Finished 3DMark2001, and seems stable. Maybe could go
further...
Not too shabby!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
