Can anyone provide information positive/negative on the Sapphire 9600 256
meg Atlantis card. I am thinking of purchasing this with my system upgrade.

Thanks

Roland

From the reviews I have read, the 256MB model offers little more than the
128MB model. Save yourself a few dollars and get the 128MB.

Is it an 9600 XT card?
Get the XT if it isn't.

I bought Sapphire R 9600 XT @ 128 Mb a couple of days ago from newegg.
It's the 'bulk' version if you go look in there. The card is simply the
best for its price ($151). I previously had GF 5600XT @ 256Mb... for
just two days and I RMA'd it... it sucked donkey d**k.

Don't hesitate and get the sapphire 9600 xt. I don't think there's a
great difference between the 128 & 256 mb versions.

Also, NewEgg shipped the card the same day I ordered it. FedEx was fast
too and I received the card on the third day!

I have two of the 9600's with 256m. They both run great on two of my ASUS
boards (A7n8x and A7V133) They both dont work quite as well on a Shuttle
AK35 board that I have. They are quite fast an have great picture quality
both 2d and 3d. The price came down on the 256 meg model and its now only
a few dollars more than the 128.

Hi,
isn't the 256MB 9600 family actually *slower* than the 128MB versions? i.e:
the GPU/Memory is clocked lower?

I have not checked to see but the info listed on NewEgg showed them at the
same speed.

I just bought the same card from New Egg. The 9600 256mb. I am using a ABIT
IS7 motherboard and the newest drivers. I get some color problems when
playing back movies. I've tried many DivX movies and diffrent monitors. The
pictirs has red dots in it. I am using MS Media Player 9.

Any ideas?

I have this card and am very happy with it, the only negative thing ican say
is that on some cards the heat sensor is missing (is on mine) therefore you
cant use the override function, apart from that brilliant, beats the s++t
out of my old mx 440.
