Just wondering if anyone has an HP Scanject 5110c (or similar) working
with RedHat?
Supposedly it's supported ...but SANE does not detect it on my system.
From what I've found ...a patch is needed to get it working.

Suggest you repost to a RH-specific, or general Linux, group. This group has
no affiliation with any OS, and is concerned, primarily, with what goes on
'under the bonnet' as it were. Your issue is software, not hardware. I have
three dozen RedHat-specific groups on my ISP's server. Yours may carry at
least as many.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I'll take your word for it that it's supported under SANE.

If so, try updating your version of SANE. The Redhat distribition's
packages tend to be a few versions behind (more so than competing
distros). Anyways, here's the address:

There's a Redhat 9 RPM available, which should make updating it a
little easier. If you have trouble with the RPM, you can uninstall
the SANE package from the RPM manager, and try installing from a
fresh compile with the source code.
