Hi,

I have a plan to buy a DC, 5M pixels, easy to operate. I had serached in the
net and found that Nikon Coolpix 5400, Canon G5, Sony V1 may be the DC that
I want. Any suggestion? Other brand/model would also be considered.

However, Nikon Coolpix 5400 has been sold out. Is it worth to wait for it?

Thanks a lot.

For sure, look into Olympus cameras, including the C-5050. I think Olys
offer the best values, and the quality of the pictures is excellent.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I love my Pentax Optio 550. It is almost as small as I wanted and has all
the fetures and manual overrides too.

I have owned 4 digital cams nnow.

The Coolpix 5400 excels at macro shots, that's about the only
thing to recommend it.

Canon G5: excellent image quality and ergonomics, not a good
autofocus or low-light performer.

Can't comment on the V1, no first-hand experience with it.

If you don't mind the larger size, Sony's F717 can be had for
about $700 now and is a decent performer, with lots of bells
and whistles. It resolves an incredible amount of detail and
it's nightframing/nightshot modes are a blast. Color balance
is anemic though, especially in outdoor/overcast lighting.
