I'm running a Sempron 3100+ CPU with an Epox 8NPS SLI motherboard.
The system seems to run well but occasionally processes will hang.

According to CPU-Z 1.32, the CPU Voltage is 0.984. Isn't that very
low? I went to BIOS and changed the CPU Voltage from Auto to +.025,
but it didn't make any difference. On the POST screen it says CPU
Voltage 1.4.

I'm confused...if I have a problem, would it be the CPU itself or the
motherboard?

Well I don't have Cool N Quiet installed, and I tried running CPU
intensive tasks to see if the voltage would increase, but it stays
stuck on .98.

Seems to be running ok now, but still seems weird when everyone else
talks about 1.4 or 1.5 volts.

i would check the epox website to see if there is a newer bios that might correct that. does the bios show the same reading as the software?

I tried CPU-Z, a program called SensorsView, and AMD's own AMD Power
Monitor 1.0.1 software. All say .98. AMD's software doesn't even have
an option for which sensor monitors voltage, it's hard-coded.

There was an "Athlon 64 Processor Driver" in the Add/Remove Programs
list. I uninstalled it and rebooted. Now the AMD Power Monitor says
1.4V, but CPU-Z and SensorsView still say .98.

Oh well, I've spent enough time on this, the system is working well
now. I think the problem with it was a 300GB SATA drive was
overheating after a while.
