I have tried to install 2 different video cards with both resulting in
no signal messages on monitor. The newest card is a Saphire Radeon
9600 pro 256mb that I ordered from Newegg. Old 64mb card still works
fine when reinstalled (dell 8250 windows xp) . I removed drivers and
uninstalled device in device manager before shutting down and
installing new card. I bellieve I am following instructions to a tee
but still have this problem. Is it likely a bad card or is there
another possible reason I need to address?
thanks
david

For some reason you are getting the wrong refresh rate the monitor
expects. Boot into safe mode and then install the drivers and see what
happens. Are you installing the monitor .inf file too? That tells the
video card what refresh rates it can use.
