Post subject: SilentTek 2 not available on any mobo? And what is the "best" mobo?
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>aopen (more info?)

I'm looking for a new mobo for some time now. I've compared some boards and
found the AX4C Max II quiet nice. But as I was looking again today I
compared the Max II against the AX4C Max. I thought the Max II had SilentTek
2, but I found out that there isn't a board that supports it??!

And what astonished me too is that the differences between the Max and the
Max II are quite minimal! I thought the Max II had more stuff (to make it
Silent) than the Max.

Does anyone know why SilentTek 2 is not available?, and if you have some
comment / tips on what board to buy (ax4c max / max II or an other
(comparable) mobo) is most appreciated

Thanks!

I am using Silent Tek Ver 3.12.30 from the AOpen web site
on the AX4B Pro 533 and similar MB's

Recently built a couple of systems using the AX4PER
and the AX4P Plus

SilentTek / WinXP and not Admin - Hi, I am using the AK79D-400VM and the SilentTek hardware monitoring tool. It's really great in reducing the noise, in fact, my computer runs without noise most of the time (thanks to not overclicking it :-). But I have a son who has his own account as...

mobo or what - We, my son-in-law, grandson, and myself are trying to build a gaming = machine. So far we have assembled the following: CPU is intel Pentium 4 3.0G (800Mhz) Mobo is Aopen AX4C Max, Intel 875P Chipset Ultra ATA133 ATX Form = FActor w/1AGP98X),....

MoBo Upgrade - I have a AX6B+ w/ PII 400. Old and slow. I would like to upgrade my board and CPU. But I want to use my drives (ATA100s) and maybe my memory. I don't want to go all new. I would even consider a used board. What are my options?

HP Pavilion Need New MoBo - I have an HP Pavilion 6540C with a 466Mh Celeron processor, and would like to upgrade it to an AMD Athalon 2800+ Barton. Can anyone reccomend a motherboard that will fit my case??

I'm sick of mobo makers! - This is my two cents! I don't want to start a war, just want to expose you my opinion. I'm in computer industry for 10 years, working as network manager and technician. I'm sick of all those mobo manufacturers who produce flashy, but poorly designed..
