I thought those bluetooth keyboards have a timeout setting on them.
The distance is good, and would work at 20 feet. Heck I left my phone
in the car and had a bluetooth wireless headset that keep the signal
for almost 40 feet. When it dropped I was looking for the phone it was
in the car

).
I would download the manual and take a close look. I just brought a
pda bluetooth wireless and according to the manual it can set a
timeout on the device, but that is something I don't need and I have
the timeout set for 3 minutes. I'm typing this message with the
keyboard now. The range is about 20 feet before the signal drops. One
of the nice things though is that you can setup this software to find
the bluetooth device if you want to reconnect. Also take a close look
at the Apple bluetooth keyboard. It has an on/off switch and works
with Windows I heard. Don't know if it is offically supported, but
according to what I have read is supposed to nicer than the microsoft
keyboard and cheaper to boot.
Whatever.
Good luck,
Alan
