Regarding the speculation recently about whether Opteron would ever make it
beyond 4-way servers, and whether some helping hand will make this possible,

"The two companies will collaborate in other ways. Sun plans to help adapt
Opteron for use in servers with more than four microprocessors, promote an
AMD technology for connecting chips together and even help develop entirely
new microprocessors, Mr. Knox said."

I'm not sure what they mean by "help develop entirely new microprocessors",
that maybe a few generations away.
