My Swiftech pump is leaking. I thought I read somewhere that it was also a
submersible pump. Can I submerse it in a res to avoid leak issues? Will
that affect my pressure if I do? Thanks.

i dont know about water cooling but - a pump's a pump no matter what
aplication its being used on. i also dont know wether or not its submersible
but if the leak is on the outlet side then it will affect pressure. if its
on the inlet side it wont affect pressure in the slightest

The liquid is leaking from the bottom, so I'm not sure which connection is
affected.

If the leak is on the inlet side then the pump will lose its prime and won't
work at all if it's not submerged.

Doesn't appear to be a submersible pump.

Found it. It says in the PDF installation guide that the pump is "fully
submersible" although "configured" for inline use. Do think putting it in a
res is worth the risk? If it's leaking and slightly rattling, I'm wondering
if it's just shot?

correct. the o/p was talking about submerging it - thats why i said it would
not affect the pressure

If it is a magnetic impeller pump then it rattling when you shake it is
normal. Also, if it is a magnetic impeller pump there are only a few joints
where a leak could occur - at the inlet and outlet couplings and o-ring
joint that can be unscrewed to replace the impeller. A magnetic impeller
pump is VERY low pressure, and you should be easily able to use an epoxy
compound to repair any leaks.

try it. what you got to lose ? if its knackered/leaking anyway you cant do
much more damage
