Can sombody give me a set of pin correlations for a USB plug connection to
the MB..

My pins on the motherboard are labeled NC / GND / P2+ / P2- / +5V / +5V /
P1- / P2- / GND

The wires (individual - not a plug) are labeled VCC1 / VCC0 / GND / D1+ /
D1- / GND / D2+ / D2-

Any idea who goes where???

NC - Not connected (don't attach anything here)
GND - GND (doesn't matter which one)
P2+ D2+
P2 - D2-
+5V VCC1 (or 0, doesn't matter)
+5V VCC0 (or 1, doesn't matter)
P1- typo? Where's p1+? Should be p1+ D1+
P2- typo? Where's p1-? Should be p1- D1-
GND - GND (doesn't matter which one)

If your motherboard is really labelled as you typed it, I'm stumped. Each
USB connector needs Data (plus and minus) plus VCC (+5V) and ground (GND)
connection. Sometimes two USB connectors will share a ground connection at
the mainboard end, and there will be an NC pin (not connected) used as a
"key" so you don't get the connection wrong.

But smarter case manufacturers split their USB connections to individual
pins, as not all USB connectors are the standard configuration. (why, I
have no idea) -Dave

Yup - that was a typo - should have been P1+ / P1-

The MB is a new ASUS P5K-V.
Thanks a bunch

The bottom of pin no. 1 usually has a tiny arrow on it. If you put this
pin in the position that corresponds to the number 1 position in the
manual then the rest of them should go in order.

D1+ -> P1+
D1- -> P1-
D2+ -> P2+
D2- -> P2-
GND -> GND (the GND next the the P1+ or P2+)
VCC0 -> +5V (next to the P1-)
VCC1 -> +5V (next to the P2-)
NC is not needed
Good luck

The one with a little arrow on the bottom goes on pin number 1 and the
others follow suite in order.
