Post subject: WD Raptor power connection
Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware>homebuilt (more info?)

My power supply has SATA power connectors, so I'm assuming that I shouldn't
connect a standard 4-pin power connector to the Legacy power plug on the
hard drive too, is this right?

No. Only connect EITHER the SATA power lead OR the molex power lead. NOT
both.
