Hi,
I have a Shuttle "Zen" ST62K and want to get the Wake On LAN working. When
I turn it off, the port on my switch still glows - it's "on." Yet the NIC's
LED on the back of the PC isn't glowing, and nor is the IP address pingable.
What exactly do I need to do in order for the PC to be powered on (woken up)
remotely from the LAN?
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks

Have looked at that Chippy, but that still requires an IP address
(presumabely one that's pingable). The LAN has a DHCP server, so I don't
manually configure each system's IP.
Any other suggestions?

Not sure what the setting in your BIOS are, my shuttle sb61 needs Wake
On PCI set & the nic light goes off on powerdown (think the hub one does
too).

Starting from the beginning, there should be a cable that goes from the NIC
to the motherboard (WOL connecters at each end). Is it connected?

Is it just me or does that not sound right at all. If the 'link' LED
is on at one end it should be on at the other, unless something is
broken.

Not so, it requires a MAC address.
