Post subject: Windows XP provided G400 driver
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>matrox (more info?)
My favorite resoltuion is 1152 x 864
but refresh rate is fixed at 75Hz with Windows XP provided.
I have installed 5.88.061, the latest one form Matrox.
this driver let me select one from 60, 70, 75.
What's wrong with Windows XP provided driver ?

Microsoft embedded drivers almost never contain all the
features of manufacturer drivers. Refresh rate selection is
not the only feature that's not available with MS's driver.

You don't get an 85Hz choice even with the newest Matrox drivers? Is your exact
monitor brand and model specified in Display Properties > Settings tab?

Use the Matrox Tweak utility - from their site and change your settings.

I am running WinXP / G400 / 5.88.061 with refresh rate 85mhz (up to 120mhz
available).

I got the G400 driver from the Matrox site. I also installed a driver for my
monitor from the monitor manufacturers website.
