I have a Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard and a Microsoft Comfort
Optical Mouse 3000. Both are wired and USB devices. However both are
not recognized during a Windows-XP setup or repair. I had a wireless
system prior to this and thought the problem was the wireless . I am
at a loss now - why is the Keyboard not recognized ? The indicator
light on the keyboard comes on, but none of the function keys work.
I had to use a PS2 keyboard to reinstall Windows.
I'm I missing a BIOS setting ? Motherboard is P4C800-E Deluxe
Thanks. >> Stay informed about: Windows does not see keyboard -P4C800-E |

Do you have "USB Legacy devices" enabled in BIOS? If not, the
motherboard won't see USB keyboards until in Windows or another OS
that has a USB driver.

I did enable the USB Legacy Devices in the Bios. I still could not use
the keyboard - FUNCTION Keys. I noticed the ESC and ENTER keys were
fine. Are the function keys linked with some other settings ?
Thanks. >> Stay informed about: Windows does not see keyboard -P4C800-E |

I have a P4C800-E Deluxe and I don't need SP1 to supply USB drivers. I
use Ghost occasionally, booting from the plain-Jane PC-DOS that Ghost
provides on its boot CD. As long as I have USB devices turned on in
BIOS, my USB wireless mouse works just fine in PC-DOS Ghost with no
Windows involved. I have a PS-2 keyboard, so I can't speak to problems
with that.
