that's the problem. Don't connect to the WAN port, connect to one
of the normal network LAN ports.

The WAN port is supposed to isolate and firewall the wireless and
LAN ports from the WAN port. Granted, it is supposed to allow LAN
and wireless to see anything on the WAN, but in practice they are
two seperate networks. So connect your LAN to a LAN port on the
DI614 and you should be OK.
That's the way I run.
I had to turn off the DI-614's DHCP server. And the DI-614 does not
do DHCP client on the LAN ports, nor does it do NTP. So it doesn't
get an IP address, and it doesn't get the time for its logs. Oh
well. You don't need those to function as a "hub".

It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral
busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his
cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our
own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval
of their consciences. -- C. S. Lewis<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
