Post subject: Wireless router and internet connection - need easier way
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>networking (more info?)

Hello,

I have successfully installed a Toshiba WRC-1000 wireless router in
order to remotely connect to the internet.

My setup is:

DSL line - DSL modem - Wireless Router .... (airwaves).... computer

As you can see, I am not really using it for networking, but am using
it merely for wireless internet access.

The goos news is that I am able to connect to my Verizon DSL account.
The bad news is that the method by which I am connecting is VERY
tedious. It used to be that I could just click on Verizon DSL and it
would connect. Now when I try that it hangs and fails to connect. I
have been able to connect by going into the router's config utility
and hitting "connect" there. Needless to say, this is a pain in the
neck.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to how I can set up a shortcut to
connect to the internet without having to go into the config utility?

Thanks!
