Hi, I have a few questions on the Supermicro dual XEON X5DPA-GG board?

- Anyone have any experiences good or bad with this board running under
Linux or Redhat Linux?

- Any non rack mount low cost case recommendations? I like the INWIN S500
with an upgraded 400w ps but not sure if cooling will be adequate.

- Any rack mount case recommendations where cooling is not a big issue. The
room it will be in is not exactly cool but no more than 75-80 degrees F.

- Any reseller recommendations? Seems that not everyone that has the board
has the recommended memory to go with it.

Any opinons good or bad.

Thx

Mike

Mike,
That board should work well with most linux and definitely with Red Hat.
I've used the X5DP8-GG with Red Hat. As for a good case, the Antec
1080 AMG is a fantastic case, and it ships with a 430 watt power supply
that will work with that board. If you want a rackmount case,
Supermicro cases are incredibly good. They're not always the quietest
things around, nor the least expensive, but cooling and power are
fantastic. Cooling is always an issue, and Supermicro and Antec both
handle cooling VERY well.
If you need a good reseller, I'd check out <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.mbx.com/" target="_blank">http://www.mbx.com/</a> They
have an unequaled warranty, fantastic tech support, great product
selection, and great staff.
