Post subject: YAMAHA SCSI to IDE adapter question
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>cd-rom (more info?)

I bought a CRW 2200 a few years back I had to have the scsi version so with
the ide drive they sent an adapter (part V769970). It worked flalessly. I
ran my 2200 (cd burner) with no problems until a fe days ago. It seems to
have died (the burner that is).

The question is.... Can I use this adapter on other IDE hardware?
I have read conflicting views on 2 or 3 sites. I have tried it with only one
other cd burner but it did not work. However I have read a report of this
adapter working with an IDE hard drive!

Anyone have any experience?
If not...
Are there any hardware hacks to get it to work?

Thanks

Waz
