audio cd playback problem

Post subject: audio cd playback problem
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>cd-rom (more info?)

When playing a track from any audio cd on sony 52x52x52x
i get one side way down...however, when playing a wav file from the
hard drive, left to right balance is perfect
win xp, ms media player 9
what could be causing this????

The settings in the volume control. Start > Programs > Accessories >
Entertainment > Volume control.

One thread in the CD drive -> soundcard line is cut, or a connector
isn't seated correctly.
