My computer isnt booting (I dont even get any video output), and it
beeps 3 times over and over. From what I've read, the 3 beeps is
that it cant access the lower 64kbytes.
The computer used to work fine, but its been sitting around for a
while. I removed all the PCI cards, disconnected all the ide devices
(hard drives/cd) just to see if I can get video to get to the bios,
but no luck.
The only thing I see weird I see about the motherboard, ga-7vtx, is
that the small NB fan is not spinning. Im not sure if the
Northbridge is responsible for access to the lower 64 kbytes, but
could replacing this fan fix the problem or is the problem something
else? Could the NB have been ruined (permanently) by this non-working
fan. >> Stay informed about: Can a bad Northbridge Fan cause a no-boot? |

Just disconnect the fan. I can't see the PC just idling causing the chipset
to overheat.
I doubt very much that this has anything to do with your problem. >> Stay informed about: Can a bad Northbridge Fan cause a no-boot? |
