I'm getting a new DVD burner (LiteOn, duel layer) in my new system I'm
building (haven't ordered parts yet, just been researching). My question
is, what is the best brands of DVD+ media? I've had good luck with
KHypermedia & Memorex (& in the old days, Verbatim) in the CD-R world, but
never tried the DVD+ area yet.

In general, if you stay clear of bargain basement media, you'll do well.
The Verbatim DataLifePlus 4.7GB 8x DVD-R and original Taiyo Yuden 4.7GB 8x
DVD-R work well for me in a variety of burners.
Fuji products marked "Made in Japan" are almost certainly TY.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Best brand of DVD+R/+RW |

So you're saying almost any name brand, hard labled surface (not the "the
metal is at the top of the disk ready to be scratched & flaked away" type of
media)?
Memorex or other names like that? Any names that are generally bad ones
(too often low quality / bad disks compared to other places)?

Before buying a large quantity, purchase and test a few of a given brand.
TDK, Maxell, Memorex, Fuji, Ritek, and Taiyo Yuden have all worked very well
for me.

I've had excellent results with Maxell, Memorex and Imation +R media.
Imation in particular 'cause they make media specifically for high-speed,
(8x), burning. I've used these brands on Memorex, Samsung and Plextor
burners with no issues at all.
Curt.

I've seen them both looking the same & getting good reviews.
What is it that makes the NEC one better (the specs & other reviews don't
seem to say)?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Best brand of DVD+R/+RW |
