hope someone has some advice on this issue
burnt a data backup cd using adaptec cd creator and cant copy the
files off it. you can see the files, right click and see file
properties ok,the file size, file name, create date, etc etc but when
you copy / paste i get this error:
"cannot copy [filename] the parameter is incorrect"
some files can be copied but the most important [accounting data] are
not accessible...have tried reading the files on 3 different computers
but get the same result
thanks to any and all who may have some advice in this disasterous
situation >> Stay informed about: burnt data CD - files not accessible data |

The problem is usually due to a poorly written disc, typically one with
excessive errors. You can confirm that by measuring write quality with a
program such as Ahead's CDSpeed or Arrowkey's CD/DVD Diagnostic.
If that's the problem, there's not much to be done to recover the data.
Tools such as CD/DVD Diagnostic will read the disc as well as possible,
but you'll be left to put the sectors together and to correct the errors
by hand - not a task to be taken lightly.
If the disc is poorly written, you should look to find a better match of
medium with speed and writer. That won't help with existing discs, however.
