took quill in hand and carefully composed...
| I inhereted a PC with a Matrox video card that can handle two
| monitors. There are actually two cards and I'm trying to identify
| what I have so I can download Windows98 drivers for it. The cards
| are:
|
| Matrox 906-04 Rev B Copyright 1999 - stamped into board
| S/N: GAN42418 - on thin rectangular sticker with bar code, chip side
| MV0 3450 - on small square white sticker, chip side
| N1594 - on large white sticker with bar code, back side
| S/N A248050 - on large white sticker with bar code, back side
That one sounds like a G4+MDH4A32G, which is a G400 4x AGP card with 32MB of
RAM. Sorry I can't find any info on the second number. These were both
evidently OEM cards that Matrox provided one of the computer manufacturers.
| OTHER CARD
| -------------
| Matrox 895-04 A Copyright 1999 - stamped into board
| AR9 2669 - on thin rectangular yellow/orange sticker, back side
| S/N A248050 - on large white sticker with bar code, back side
| N1594 - on large white sticker with bar code, back side
|
| Can anyone identify what I have and what drivers I need?
The Win98 drivers for the first card are here:
http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/latest/home.cfm
There are actually two drivers there. The one dated 27 Feb 02 is the official
Win98 driver and the one dated 8 July 02 is a beta driver. Either will probably
be OK.
If you can't get an answer about the second card here, suggest you go to the
Matrox Support Forum and ask about it there.
