I don't see what difference some fancy remote makes. I doubt that the "Fire
Fly" does a tenth what a 75 buck Sony does, but in any case a remote can
only tell the application to do what it's capable of doing. I installed
BeyondTV, played with it, decided that it was pants compared to a hacked
Tivo, and tossed it.

You're not going to get 8 tuners in a media center PC. If your only
objective is to avoid the Tivo fees then just pay them off upfront. It
will cost you less than a media center PC.

Got one. It's OK, but it's not the same quality as a DirecTivo tystream.
And _way_ poor compared to HD.

What features are you looking for? There are numerous cases aimed at that
