I have a EVGA 6800GT and when I initially installed the card I used the
drivers from EVGA's site but I've noticed that nvidia has a newer set of
drivers than what are available on EVGA's site. Is there any reason to stick
with EVGA's driver sets? I'm sure that they are the same as nvidia's and
EVGA is probably just a little slow in keeping up with the latest releases,
but I thought I'd check in here first just to be sure.

There's no reason to open the CD envelope included with the card. Smile

Use the nVidia drivers. It won't be a problem.

In the past I've always done this... the only reason I asked is because I've
never known a card manufacturer to brand nvidia drivers with their logo and
maintian a fairly updated driver list on their own website (of course I've
mainly been using ATI cards in the past) so I thought that maybe evga might
somehow tweak the driver set for their cards or something. But I'll just
stick witht he nvidia drivers from now on... thanks!

Yes, at times card manufacturers offer their own interface with possible
improved tweaks. But in general nVidia is pretty good about optimizing their
drivers, and at least you know you have the latest, if that is important to
you.

Well the latest isn't really all that important to me specifically (if
everything's working , I'm happy), but I had another piece of hardware in my
system that was giving me some problems and their tech support wouldn't even
talk to me until I updated every other piece of hardware in the system with
the latest drivers.
